JUNE-SEPTEMBER
LAKE ERIE WALLEYE!

From June thru the end of our season on Lake Erie
, our main catch is the
walleye!

The waters off Dunkirk have a great population of resident fish during the early part of the season, followed by the migration of walleye from the western basin of the lake later in the summer.

This provides us with monster schools of walleye all season long!

LAKE ERIE STEELHEAD!

Lake Erie also has a very good fishery for steelhead, both offshore and in the tributaries in the fall.  Nothing can beat the acrobatic jumps and twists of the steelhead, and more often than not, you'll see the fish on the surface before the rod even moves!

APRIL/MAY
BROWN TROUT!
In April and May, we target the cool waters of Western Lake Ontario for salmon and trout from the port of Wilson, NY.

Starting with Brown Trout, we troll stickbaits "in tight" to the shore to land these hard fighters. The average size is 4-7lbs, although it is not unusual to catch browns over 10 lbs!

KING SALMON!
The prize of the Lake Ontario fishery though, is the King Salmon.  These are exciting to catch and routinely will rip out several hundred feet of line on the first run.  A true test of tackle, for sure!  The springtime average is 15-20lbs, and 30lbers are not uncommon in August!

COHO SALMON!
During the spring, we also run into good amounts of coho salmon.   Although
smaller than King Salmon, the coho can be an acrobatic fighter. These typically average about 7lbs.
